Graduate:
2009

Campus:
North Olmsted, OH

“Since I graduated, I’ve been pursuing my dream. I want to take it further and become a full time runway stylist while still maintaining a successful salon.”

What her experience was like at Regency:

When she first came to Regency Beauty Institute’s North Olmsted campus, Ronnita Bugg admits she was stubborn. “I was a little hard-headed,” she remembers. “But then I found out that the campus manager and I were from the same part of town, and it made me realize that I could accomplish great things too.”

Shari Shadi, the campus manager at North Olmsted says, “Ronnita always stood out as a very assertive, career driven woman. She placed 1st at our Salon Fair, and was always technically skilled. It seemed like the more she advanced in her program, the more driven she became.” Ronnita says that Regency helped her realize how much she could really do. “Regency made me want more out of my career than just working behind the chair.”

Opening her own salon:

After graduation, Ronnita began working at a salon in Cleveland but wasn’t as happy as she had hoped to be. “I couldn’t find a salon I really wanted to work in,” she says. So she decided to open her own salon, Studio Lux. “The opportunity just presented itself, so I took it.” She says that owning a salon is rewarding but challenging. “I’m just learning everything I can.” In addition to managing the salon and working on clients, Ronnita also styles hair for fashion shows and other red carpet events in Cleveland.

Working with cosmetology students:

Ronnita has also worked as a cosmetology instructor at a local high school. She is a Regency Salon Partner and has been featured as a guest speaker at the North Olmsted campus. “When she speaks to the students, she is such an inspiration,” says Shari. “She shows them that they can open their own salon if they want to.”

Regency Beauty has not made and will not make any guarantees of employment or salary upon graduation.
