Definition:
Wigs are heads of hair worn over the scalp or existing hair. They can be made either of a natural material (either human or animal hair) or from synthetic fibers. Wigs can be worn by someone who wants to cover up a bald spot, actors playing a role or even in response to medical situations, such as cancer treatment. Hair extensions are attached to existing hair to make it appear longer than it actually is.
What You Will Learn by Attending Beauty School at Regency Beauty Institute:
Wigs, hairpieces and extensions have been worn by women and men for both aesthetic and practical reasons for as long as history has been recorded. What better way to experiment with image changes than with a wig or hair extensions. Whatever the desire is, wigs and extensions can be very profitable in the salon. Specific topics covered:
- Wig making
- Extension techniques
