The study of form and texture combine with direction and movement to create hairstyles. Hairstyling can be divided into two distinct methods: classic hair styling and thermal hairstyling.
-Classic hairstyling is the forming of wet hair. Finger waves, pin curls, roller sets, shaping and molding the hair are all included in the classic method.

-Thermal hairstyling is the use of thermal tools, such as a hair dryer, flat iron or curling iron, to shape the hair.
