Definition:
Chemical texturizing is the use of chemicals to alter the texture of hair. Examples include perms to make straight hair curly; or straightening to make curly hair straight.
What You Will Learn by Attending Beauty School at Regency Beauty Institute:
Some people have natural curl, wave or excessively curly hair and some people have straight hair. Of course we want what we don’t have, and chemical texturizing makes it possible to make dramatic changes to hair. Chemistry and trichology play an important role in making sure the integrity of the hair is left in good condition after such treatments. Specific topics covered:
- Chemical relaxers
- Permanent waving
- Design perming
- Curl reformation
