Accreditation

It's a five-syllable word. It must be important.

Look it up and you’ll find that accreditation is about being officially recognized as having met a certain standard, or select criteria. In our case, the recognition comes from the very official U.S. Department of Education (DOE). As you might expect, the DOE has high standards. At Regency, ours are even higher.

While we’re on this topic, here are a few more tidbits:

  • Accredited schools are monitored by a recognized non-governmental agency on behalf of the DOE. In the past, Regency Beauty Institute campuses have achieved provisional accreditation by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences (NACCAS) within 90 days of opening.
  • Accredited schools are committed to maintaining a high level of education quality and integrity.
  • Accreditation is a requirement for federal financial aid.

On the flip side:

  • Non-accredited schools are not officially recognized by the DOE. They are therefore not subject to DOE’s teaching standards or graduation and placement rates.
Feel free to draw your own conclusions, but from where we sit, accreditation is a no-brainer. It may cost us more to meet the accreditation standards and maintain our own internal standards in order to provide you with a world-class education. But given the payoff for you, we consider it a small price to pay. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
